ZZ Top 2021 Tour Announcement – 50th Anniversary Tour Schedule
Long beards, humorous lyrics, and beautifully old-school rock – just a few things that ZZ Top has given us for half a century. The group has announced dates for their 50th Anniversary Tour, and it’s going to be big! With 55 stops that span across the country, this ZZ Top tour begins on July 16th in Manchester, IA and continues until mid-December.
While ZZ Top has gained popularity as 80’s icons, showing up regularly on MTV as older millennials watched after school, the band has actually been around far longer. Since 1969, to be precise. While the pandemic forced the 20/20 Vision Tour with Def Leppard and ZZ Top to be postponed in 2020, along with pushing back the date of the 50th anniversary trek, the band is more ready than ever to get back onstage.
With fifteen albums under their belt, the trio – Billy Gibbons, Frank Beard, and Dusty Hill – has an entire catalogue of bluesy, jazzy, and Texas-inspired classic rock hits at their fingertips. If you forgot that ZZ Top was from Texas, they’ll certainly remind you through lyrics and live performances… proudly proclaiming their Texas roots every chance they get.
There’s a crucial reason that ZZ Top has maintained popularity for fifty years. And we’re not even talking about the humorous lyrics, catchy sounds, interesting look (beards and sunglasses, anyone?) and a fun appearance in the 1990 film Back to the Future: Part III. In fact, it’s the ZZ Top concerts.
Even in 2021, with hip-hop and pop dominating the charts, a ZZ Top concert will transport you back to the 80’s. Gibbons’s voice is just as crisp as ever, while Frank Beard’s steady drumming during hits like “Legs” and “Gimme All Your Lovin’’ will remind you why classic rock never goes out of style. That being said, a ZZ Top tour doesn’t happen as often as you would expect… so you don’t want to miss the chance to see them on the 50th Anniversary Tour!
