System of a Down 2021 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
System of a Down is bringing the mosh pit to a city near you on their week-long fall tour, and they’re even taking their metal-loving friends with them! Faith No More and Russian Circles will support upcoming performances, beginning on October 15th in Las Vegas, NV, and ending on October 23rd in Los Angeles, CA.
Metal fans were ecstatic in early 2020 when System of a Down announced a big show in their hometown of Los Angeles, CA, featuring rock heavyweights Korn, Faith No More, Helmet, and Russian Circles. Sadly, that show was canceled due to the pandemic… but it will finally happen on October 23rd at Banc of California Stadium!
Even with that roster of hard-rock heavyweights, the name “System of a Down” will always stand out. The group has become known for their energy-packed live shows with Serj Tankian’s soaring vocals, Daron Malakian’s mesmerizing guitar riffs, and political lyrics that, while written decades go, still fit into today’s climate.
So much, so that System of a Down continues to sell out stadiums despite not releasing an album in sixteen years. The alt-metal band is frequently asked if they plan to release a follow-up to their fifth album, 2005’s Hypnotize, only to deliver vague answers. However, many fans are okay with that!
Since their formation in Los Angeles in 1994, System of a Down has released five nearly-perfect albums. Songs like “B.Y.O.B,” “Chop Suey,” “Toxicity,” and “Lonely Day” have risen to the top of the alt-rock and metal charts and earned a permanent position in any rock fan’s playlist – and the group has no intention of releasing new material unless they’re fully dedicated to the project.
While frontman Serj Tankian has maintained a successful career as a solo artist, even releasing twin albums called the Cinematique Series in 2021, it’s unlikely that we’re going to get a new System of a Down album anytime soon.
