Sabaton 2022 Tour Announcement – The Tour to End All Tours Schedule
Sabaton has extended their “The Tour to End All Tours” run, stretching into the US in fall 2022. You can see the Swedish heavy metal band beginning September 15th in Seattle, WA, with stops in more than 20 cities before the final Sabaton concert in New York, NY, on October 23rd.
“We’re all looking forward to this tour,” said bassist Pär Sundström. “It will have been three years since we’ve brought our headline show to America, so we are more ready than ever. And, with the release of our new album, we now have a vault full of new songs to play.” Their tenth album, The War to End All Wars, was just released in March 2022, and everybody is excited to hear hard-rock singles like “Christmas Truce” and “Soldier of Heaven” live for the first time.
The band had already planned to tour in their native Europe in spring 2022, but American fans expressed how much they wanted to attend the Sabaton tour on social media. Their latest record is even more powerful than past releases, reliving the horrors of World War I through the lens of one of the biggest metal bands in the world. They strived to honor the spirit of all those who fought, maintaining their respect through majorly intense guitar riffs and solos from drummer Hannes Van Dahl that will drum up excitement (pun intended) on the Sabaton tour.
“With our last album, The Great War, we found that we had only scratched the surface in terms of the powerful stories of courage and bravery and also the horrors that took place during the first World War,” the band said in a statement. “Fans would contact us and tell us these amazing stories from World War One that none of us had ever heard of before.”
“These are magnificent stories about everyday people who were willing to give their lives for something that was bigger than themselves,” they continued. “Marrying these true tales to loud, bruising, bone tingling heavy metal? Adding a second chapter to one of the most frightening and liberating times in history? Why wouldn’t we make this album?”
