Pop Evil 2023 Tour Announcement – Skeletons Tour Schedule
Pop Evil is touring in spring 2023, celebrating their upcoming seventh album, Skeletons, in dozens of cities! Joined by The Word Alive and Avoid, the rock band will begin on March 17th in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and continue for over a month before concluding on April 23rd in Milwaukee, WI.
“This is about us as a band stripping everything down to the bones,” says frontman Leigh Kakaty about Skeletons, set for release in March 2023, “It’s more uptempo, it’s got bigger riffs, and we’re trying to capture the energy of our live show.” “But it’s also a positive message,” he adds, “I know it’s a morbid visual, but behind every skeleton, there’s a story and something worth talking about. Overall, it’s about looking at something in a positive way. And I’m excited for everyone to hear that.”
We feel the same way, especially after watching the music video for Pop Evil’s first single, “Paranoid (Crash and Burn).” It’s a solid hard rock track with relatable lyrics and grand visuals, taking place in a futuristic Utopia that’s straight out of a Marvel movie. Each verse gets deeper than the next, which seems to be Kakaty’s point. Skeletons is a heavily personal record for Pop Evil, even more so than their last record, 2021’s Versatile, and we can’t wait to hear the album in its entirety!
For Skeletons, the band worked with famed producer Drew Fulk, known for his work with rock bands like Disturbed, Papa Roach, and Motionless in White. The result is a heavy and heroic album that’s all about overcoming your inner demons, something many of us have learned a lot about the past few years, and Pop Evil wouldn’t have it any other way. “With ‘Versatile‘, we had a bunch of producers, but for this album, we just wanted to work with one person and get back to our roots,” says Kakaty. “There’s an energy he and I have, and he’s been great at helping us build these songs and work around some collective themes.”

For over two decades, Pop Evil has been one of the more uplifting rock bands in the scene, but it seems that Skeletons will take things to the next level.
