Where to See Caifanes in 2021 and 2022

Caifanes, one of the biggest rock en español bands of our time, has a set of upcoming shows in 2021 and 2022! You can next see them on October 6th in Oklahoma City, OK, followed by visits to Denver, CO, Salt Lake City, UT, Miami Beach, FL, and more before their final concert in Anaheim, CA, on February 5th, 2022.

Caifanes has been on tour since the summer, playing their progressive rock hits to West Coast cities like Houston, TX, Las Vegas, NV, and San Jose, CA. Fans are excited for the group to make their way across the country – both longtime supporters who have been following Caifanes since the 1980s, and newer fans who love their Spanish language hits!

The group’s name is derived from the 1940’s Mexican slang, “Cae fine,” which is equivalent to “cool dude” in English. Needless to say, it matches the band’s vibe. 

After forming in 1985, the band reached mainstream success with their self-titled debut three years later. Their legacy continued with the following three albums, gaining legions of supporters who loved their Spanish-language rock hits and goth-inspired style. These things were few and far between back in the 1990s, which helped Caifanes stand out in the music scene.

According to Caifanes’s Wikipedia page, “their arrival marked a total rupture in structures and of many taboos of the time, and their look collided with social norms.” Very few groups in the Mexican rock scene had the confidence to dress in all black and dramatic stage makeup, marking their progressive and goth-rock roots, but Caifanes has never been an ordinary band. 

The rock en español group inspired thousands of fans with their heavy sound, meaningful lyrics, and unique stage attire – which made it all the sadder when they broke up in 1995. They reunited in 2010 and have been playing shows worldwide ever since, despite not releasing a studio album of new material in twenty-seven years. 

Between band breakups (and subsequent reunions) and losing a year of live music due to the pandemic, we’ll never take concerts for granted again – especially from a legendary band like Caifanes.
