JoJo Siwa 2022 Tour Announcement – D.R.E.A.M. Tour Schedule
JoJo Siwa is currently preparing for her D.R.E.A.M. tour by Nickelodeon, which is scheduled to kick off on January 13, 2022, in Spokane, WA. The 18-year-old will continue her trek for around two months before wrapping up on March 12th in New Orleans, LA.
Siwa’s debut concert tour has been a long time coming, as she’s accomplished more in her eighteen years than many do in a lifetime. Since appearing with her mother on Dance Moms as a child, she’s become a YouTuber with over 12 million subscribers, Nickelodeon star appearing on the network’s top shows, and accomplished singer with three EPs. It’s her 2018 EP, D.R.E.A.M. The Music that she’ll be celebrating on this JoJo Siwa tour.
Of course, Siwa has plenty of things to be proud of in 2021. There’s her stint on Dancing With the Stars, which marked the first same-sex dance partnership in the show’s history and helped Siwa become an even greater icon for the LGBTQ community. But she’s also proud of The J Team, a Nickelodeon-produced movie musical featuring six new songs from the megastar.
Despite Siwa’s successful relationship with Nickelodeon, she recently had a few qualms about the network’s control over her D.R.E.A.M. tour. In particular, their refusal to let her sing new tracks from The J Team at her JoJo Siwa concerts.
“I go out on tour in January. My movie musical was just released (with six new original songs),” Siwa tweeted in September 2021. Nickelodeon told me today that I’m not allowed to perform/add any of the songs from the film into my show. These are MY songs, MY voice, MY writing. Does this seem fair?”
The tweet gained over 12,000 likes and 900+ retweets, with the singer eventually saying that Nickelodeon “only treats her as a brand.” Ouch. It’s a harsh statement to the network that has hosted Siwa’s work, but the teenager has never been afraid to stand up for her truth and art. Both of these things are what helped Siwa land a spot on TIME’s 2020 “Most Influential People” list, and she shows no signs of slowing down.
