Mötley Crüe 2022 Tour Update – The Stadium Tour Schedule
Mötley Crüe can’t wait to celebrate forty years of hard rock hits with a comeback tour… even if it means they’ll have to wait until 2022. The hard rock band has announced that The Stadium Tour with Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts has been postponed for a second time due to the pandemic, with rescheduled dates set to begin on June 16th, 2022 in Atlanta, GA.
“This is the only way to ensure that we can play ALL of the dates for ALL of you who have purchased tickets,” the band said in a statement after announcing the rescheduled 2022 tour dates. “We appreciate you hanging in there and can’t wait to get back on stage and bring ‘The Stadium Tour’ to all of our fans. It is going to be one for the history books!”
That last sentence isn’t an exaggeration, either… as fans have been waiting years to see Mötley Crüe reunite onstage. The group has not played together since they disbanded, embarked on “The Final Tour” (spoiler alert: it wasn’t,) and signed a “cessation of touring” agreement in 2015.
Mötley Crüe reunited in 2018, and fans were overjoyed when they announced plans to celebrate their forty-year anniversary with a comeback tour in summer 2020. Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, Vince Neil, and Tommy Lee would finally be playing “Kickstart My Heart” and “Home Sweet Home” together again! That is until COVID-19 shut down live music.
Even with needing to reschedule The Stadium Tour twice now, the band has no regrets. Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx made that clear on Instagram, with a graphic saying that he’s “so happy we decided to not tour during this pandemic… 100%.” He also added, “Not a hard decision to make when so many people’s lives are at risk. I MISS IT ‘REALLY’ BAD AND CAN’T WAIT TO HIT THE ROAD IN 2022.”
We can’t wait, either! We’ll be listening to the Los Angeles-founded band’s nine studio albums on repeat until next year, where we’ll finally see them shred onstage for the first time in nearly a decade. This is a must-see event for any heavy metal fan, and you can check out the Mötley Crüe tour schedule below!
