Lamb of God 2022 Tour Announcement – Omens Tour Schedule
Lamb of God has announced the “Omens tour” with Killswitch Engage, taking the heavy metal acts on a three-week trek around the US. They’ll kick off the trek on September 9th in Brooklyn, NY, and continue through October 20th in Irving, TX.
“Two decades ago, Lamb of God, along with Killswitch Engage, was a part of a new wave of American heavy metal music,” says Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton. “Our scene grew from a small, loosely connected network of underground shows in basements and warehouses into a global phenomenon that helped define an entire generation of modern heavy metal.” “We are thrilled to announce the ‘Omens’ tour,” he continued, “which celebrates not only the perseverance and impact of that original movement but also the creativity and originality of the bands that it influenced.”
“Heavy metal is alive and well,” Morton concluded. “The ‘Omens’ tour proudly showcases the depth and diversity of our scene. This is not a tour to miss.” He’s not wrong, as Lamb of God tours helped modernize heavy metal and create a mosh-worthy community for fans everywhere. The Grammy-nominated group entered a new creative climax in 2020 with the release of their self-titled eighth album, which Consequence of Sound called “the album of their career” and “a record that screams and bleeds heavy metal.” How can they top one of the biggest rock albums of that year, peaking at No.2 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart? It’s simple… Omens.
Set for release in October 2022, singer Randall Blythe promises that the ninth Lamb of God album will be legendary. It will also be extremely angry, focusing on the events of a post-pandemic world and where we’re going as a society. “The world is crazy and keeps changing. ‘Omens’ is a reaction to the state of the world,” Blythe told Blabbermouth. “It’s a very pissed-off record.”
The first single from Omens, “Nevermore,” is set for release in early June, while the rest will follow over time. Listening to these mega-metal tracks is the best way to prepare for the Lamb of God tour before it arrives in October, and you’ll be in awe of these angry songs and incredible live shows.
