COIN 2022 Tour Announcement – Uncanny Valley Tour Schedule
COIN is heading on the Uncanny Valley tour in summer 2022, and the indie-pop trio can’t wait to see you in the crowd. They’ll kick off the trek on July 12th in Phoenix, AZ, and continue through October 7th in Orlando, FL.
Named for their fourth album released in March 2022, the Uncanny Valley tour is a proper post-pandemic return to the stage for COIN. This year marks one decade since they were formed in Nashville, TN, and they’re celebrating both past and present with their assortment of pop-rock hits. You may remember “Run” from their self-titled debut, which was played on every radio station in 2015, but just wait until you hear new songs like “Chapstick,” “Cutie,” and “Brad Pitt.”
Do those new song titles sound like they could be shade names for your favorite MAC lipsticks? Yes, but it’s just part of COIN’s vibe. They combine upbeat pop bangers with fresh lyrics for the ultimate feel-good show, and you’ll see it firsthand on the Uncanny Valley tour.
Of course, don’t let the cute names convince you that COIN songs aren’t deep. Consequence describes Uncanny Valley as being “inspired by and heavily incorporating artificial intelligence, technology, futurism, and their collective effect on interpersonal relationships.” Meanwhile, COIN member Chase Lawrence told Atwood Magazine that the band wrote over 200 songs during the pandemic for a sense of control. They reached deep within themselves to create one of their most complex and catchy records yet.
“It’s set out to be a more narrative-based album,” Lawrence says, “but it really ended up being a way to kind of unknowingly do emotional surgery on myself.” “Emotional surgery” is a phrase that COIN should definitely have trademarked, and sums up the reasons why you need to hear these songs on the Uncanny Valley tour. You’ll laugh, cry, and dream amongst the Nashville trio, displaying every human emotion as you dance the night away.
