Carly Rae Jepsen 2022 Tour Announcement – The So Nice Tour Schedule
Carly Rae Jepsen has shared dates for “The So Nice tour,” featuring over a dozen performances beginning fall 2022. The pop songstress kicks off the trek on September 21st in Cleveland, OH, and continues through November 4th in Chicago, IL.
“We’ve had the loneliest time… but after three years, the SO NICE tour is coming to your city,” Jepsen wrote on Twitter. She has big plans for her first post-pandemic trek, as she continues to celebrate her fifth album, 2020’s Dedicated Side B, and play her greatest hits from the decade. These include “Run Away With Me,” “Cut to the Feeling,” “Boy Problems,” and of course, “Call Me Maybe,” the 2012 monster hit with which Jepsen has a complicated relationship.
It’s definitely Jepsen’s signature song, and as “Call Me Maybe” celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2022, people are looking back on its legacy. Many continue to dance along to its catchy pot chorus, while others have posted memes about how the track has become out-of-date, as most people prefer texting to calling in the present day. Jepsen has admitted that her relationship with the song was a “rollercoaster.”
“I think the rollercoaster of my ‘Call Me Maybe’ relationship was like: ‘Wow, this is so fantastic!’ And then like: ‘No, this is terrifying!’,” she told NME in 2019. “And then it got to a place where I was like, how am I going to move past this? But I feel like I shed all that fear with moving past ‘Kiss’ into ‘Emotion’ and then ‘Side B.’” “My relationship with the song was more about it being a fun moment in the [live] set versus something that I needed to feel challenged by,” she concluded.
The bittersweet hit is just one part of Jepsen’s story, as she’s continued to release exquisite and underrated albums in the past decade. Her 2015 record, Emotion, was praised by critics and marked her trajectory into more of a “pop star for adults.” Her maturity has only increased with records like the Dedicated series in 2019 and 2020, respectively. We can’t wait to see where the charismatic songstress goes next, but her first stop is playing to packed crowds on the Carly Rae Jepsen tour!
