Wynonna Judd is hitting the road on the “Back to WY Tour!” Paying tribute to her first two solo albums, the country music legend will begin on October 26th in Indianapolis, IN. She’ll make stops in Chicago, IL, Austin, TX, Louisville, KY, and more before wrapping up on December 1st in Knoxville, TN.
After her mother Naomi Judd’s tragic death last year, followed by a televised star-studded tribute concert, Wynonna needed to find herself again. And to the surprise of no one, she concluded that she feels most at home on the stage, supporting not only her mother’s legacy but also her own. “I’ve been on the road since 19 and ’83. So you do the math — and touring is one of my absolute favorite things to do,” Judd told People.
“Coming out of The Judds tribute tour, for me, it was time to get back to the intimacy again. It’s years celebrating not only being in country music for 40 years, but me as a soloist — I have so much to celebrate.” It’s the truth! The now 59-year-old commemorated the 30th anniversary of her self-titled debut last year, which was followed up in 1993 with Tell Me Why. She’ll show love to both albums on the Back to WY tour, with a setlist comprised of classic country-pop hits.
These include “She Is His Only Need,” “I Saw The Light,” “Tell Me Why,” “Rock Bottom” and many more! Wynonna Judd established herself in the early 90s as a country music powerhouse with the voice of an angel and an attitude to boot. And she’s lived up to that reputation for over three decades. Even with more than 30 million albums sold, plus countless accolades including five Grammys and a spot in the Country Music Hall of Fame, she’ll never forget where she came from.
