Bob Dylan 2023 Tour Announcement – Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour Schedule
Bob Dylan has announced more dates for the “Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour!” The iconic singer-songwriter will kick off on October 1st in Kansas City, MO. He’ll make multiple-night stops in cities like Chicago, IL, Milwaukee, WI, and Toronto, ON, before wrapping up on the 30th in Schenectady, NY.
This Bob Dylan tour initially began almost two years ago to the day, marking the singer’s first post-pandemic trek. Since Dylan has been on the road practically every year throughout his six-decade career, he was anxious to get his guitar and grand songbook out of storage! Millions of people showed up to the Rough and Rowdy Ways tour, named for his 39th album released in 2020. And Dylan knew it was time to add a few more shows.
What can we expect from these Bob Dylan concerts? If the past tells us anything, it’s that this is a show for fans of every generation. The super-long setlist consists of 2020s favorites from Rough and Rowdy Ways, plus his 40th album, 2023’s Shadow Kingdom. And then there are the dozens of folk-blues-rock classics from the vault! We’re not necessarily talking about the biggest Bob Dylan songs in the world, like “Blowing in the Wind” or “Mr. Tambourine Man,” either. But rather, older deep cuts like “Gotta Serve Somebody” and “When I Paint My Masterpiece.”
He may also throw some Grateful Dead covers into the night, which he’s done since their collaborative tour over three decades ago. It was only recently that Dylan broke out “Stella Blue” in Spain, while he’s also been known to play Grateful Dead favorites like “West L.A. Fadeaway” and “Friend of The Devil.” With a night consisting of covers, classics, deep cuts, and everything in between, you can bet that Bob Dylan is going to put on one hell of a show.
Bob Dylan’s musical accolades are never-ending – including 125 million sold albums, ten Grammy’s, a Nobel Prize, and a coveted spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Commonly referred to as one of the most talented songwriters of all time, his greatest hits have lived on repeat in our minds since the 1960s, courtesy of exquisite lyrical compositions and an increasingly Americana sound. While he’s never implied that he intends to stop touring anytime soon, you also shouldn’t take these shows for granted. Dylan is now 82 years old, after all, and it’s the quintessential time to see him perform before he retires!
