Greta Van Fleet 2023 Tour Announcement – Starcatcher Tour Schedule
Greta Van Fleet has announced the Starcatcher World Tour for summer 2023, taking the Grammy-winning rock band to 20 US cities! Joined by KALEO, Surf Curse, Mt, Joy, and Black Honey, they’ll kick off on July 24th in Nashville, TN, and continue through September 23rd in Cleveland, OH.
This Greta Van Fleet tour supports the group’s upcoming third album, Starcatcher, which is coming out on July 21st. And trust us, it’s going to be an out-of-this-world era for the Michigan-based blues rock band! They’ve already released the first single, “Meeting the Masters,” which they dubbed “a dark comedy” and “exotic spiritual journey” about “an esoteric world heeded by the word of a wise teacher.” What a descriptor, right? This single is bound to transport you to a new world of modern-meets-retro bluesy rock, and even if you don’t believe us… the reviews say it all.
Consequence writes that the song “digs deeper into their mythical lore by revisiting concepts from their previous work. Meanwhile, Uproxx notes that the track is “an existential new single on which lead vocalist Josh Kiszka embarks on a spiritual journey.” Jambase adds, “The song develops from a beautiful acoustic-tinged number into a bombastic rocker.” Songs that escalate quickly from 0-100 and take the listeners to another universe are a bit of a specialty for Greta Van Fleet. And it’s only getting more intense and otherworldly with Starcatcher.
“We didn’t really have to force or be intense about writing, because everything that happened was very instinctual,” says guitarist Jake Kisk about the album, which was recorded in Nashville last year. “If anything, the record is our perspective and sums up where we are as a group and individually as musicians.” “We had this idea that we wanted to tell these stories to build a universe,” adds drummer Danny Wagner. “We wanted to introduce characters and motifs and these ideas that would come about here and there throughout our careers through this world.”
Greta Van Fleet knew it wouldn’t be easy to top their last record, 2021’s The Battle at Garden’s Gate, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Rock Album and Hard Rock Albums charts. Songs like “My Way, Soon,” “Age of Machine,” and “Heat Above” helped them rise to the ranks of the charts, music festival lineups, and so much more. Oh, and even fully sell out last year’s “Dreams in Gold tour”! However, now they’re ready to venture into another world with Starcatcher and their beloved fanbase, and you’ll have a cosmic, captivating time at a Greta Van Fleet concert this summer.
