The Cure 2023 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
Are you ready for the ultimate 80s rock revival? Because The Cure is back! Robert Smith and co. will kick off their latest trek on May 20th in New Orleans, LA, making 30+ stops before concluding on July 1st in Miami, FL.
For the first The Cure tour in seven years, you can bet that the English goth rockers are going all out. They’ve booked three-night residencies at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA, and Madison Square Garden in New York City. And we can already see the lighters coming out in these enormous crowds for their slower songs! When they’re not dancing along to upbeat jams like “Boys Don’t Cry,” “Just Like Heaven,” and “Friday I’m in Love,” of course.
What has The Cure been up to since they last toured in the 2010s? Quite a bit. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a couple of years back by their friend, Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor, who has openly admitted to being a fanboy of The Cure. They’ve also worked on and off on a new album, their first since 2008’s 4:13 Dream, which Robert Smith keeps reminding us is definitely worth waiting for. We expect a mix of old and new tracks on this The Cure tour, ranging from the 80s classics that defined an entire generation to sneak peeks of modern alt-rock essentials.
How could we possibly explain the impact of The Cure in just a few sentences? We don’t know, but we’ll try! The group has been music lovers’ wonderfully weird companions for over four decades, blending gothic attire with upbeat new-wave songs for a confusing yet captivating aesthetic. One moment you’re enamored by Robert Smith’s big hair and makeup (okay, we 100% still are years later,) and the next, you have your dancing shoes on for a post-punk party. The Cure has mesmerized all types of music lovers for many years, and they can’t wait to deliver their powerful live performances again.
The Cure hasn’t toured in the better part of a decade, so what are you waiting for? Check below to see if Robert Smith and his bandmates are coming to your city, and grab your tickets today!
