Switchfoot 2022 Tour Announcement – This is Our Christmas Album Tour Schedule
A Christmas-themed Switchfoot tour is coming your way in winter 2022! The Christian rock band is releasing their first holiday album, and performing for thousands of fans beginning November 26th in Knoxville, TN. They’ll make stops in Akron, OH, Detroit, MI, Redding, CA, and more before concluding on December 18th in Mesa, AZ.
Dubbed the “This Is Our Christmas Album tour,” named for the upcoming holiday album of the same name, Switchfoot ho-ho-hopes to see you on the road! It’s hard to believe that this is their first seasonal effort in their quarter-century career, but we know it will be worth the wait. Will the album be full of covers, a rock rendition of songs like “Deck the Halls” and “Santa Clause is Coming to Town,” in Trans Siberian Orchestra style? Or will they craft original songs that bring us holiday cheers and make families bond over their mutual love for Switchfoot? They haven’t released much information yet about This is Our Christmas Album, but we know it’s going to be one of their best records to date.
Don’t get us wrong, as Switchfoot has released one hit album after the next over the past few years. 2019’s Native Tongue was a Dove Award-winning effort featuring singles like “All I Need,” “Let It Happen,” and “The Strength to Let Go.” Just last year they came out with Interrobang, and we’ve been blasting tracks like ‘Fluorescent” and “The Bones Of Us” on repeat ever since. These songs have had a good run on several Switchfoot tours throughout 2021 and 2022, but now they’re ready to get in the holiday spirit, and we know they’ll put on a show that brings joy and so much more.
“This season of going back out on tour and playing live music again has given me a real perspective on just how amazing it is to be able to play live events and to gather with thousands of your closest friends,” Switchfoot drummer Chad Butler recently told VC Reporter. “There’s just something magical about gathering with a crowd of people and seeing the energy and excitement in the audience to be gathered again,” he concluded, and it’s safe to say that fans feel the same way. They’ve joined them on a headlining Switchfoot tour and joint trek with Collective Soul in recent months, and now can’t wait to celebrate Christmas with their favorite band.
