Santigold 2022 Tour Announcement – The Holified Tour Schedule
Santigold has announced “The Holified tour” for fall 2022, taking the singer to 19 cities. She’ll kick off the trek on October 9th in Atlanta, GA, and continue through November 17th in San Diego, CA.
This Santigold tour supports her fourth album, Spirituals, which is set for release in September 2022. The record is her first in six years and was made mainly through quarantine in 2020, so you can expect to see a new side of the singer. While she enjoyed spending months in a Canada cabin all by herself, recording one of her best albums, she’s excited to get back in a crowded room of longtime fans. She’s sharing these songs for the first time along with another era of artistry for Santigold, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
“Recording this album was a way back to myself after being stuck in survival mode,” Santigold said in a statement. “It wasn’t until I made the space to create that I realized I wasn’t only creating music but a lifeline. California was on fire, we were hiding from a plague, and the social justice protests were unfolding. I’d never written lyrics faster in my life.” She continued, “After having total writer’s block, they started pouring out. I decided to create the future, to look towards where we are going, to create beauty, and pull towards that beauty. I need that for myself, but it’s also there for whoever else needs it.”
Others can benefit from these tracks after a rough couple of years, and they’ve already gotten a sneak peek. Santigold recently debuted two new singles, “High Priestess” and “Ain’t Ready,” with accompanying video shorts, and it’s just the beginning of the impact of Spirituals. Santigold told NYLON that she plans to make this album a “multisensory experience,” complete with video vignettes, a Santigold tour, a natural skincare line, and even a podcast where she explores the themes of the album with her guests.
