Rebelution is currently living its best life on the “Good Vibes” summer tour, taking the rock-reggae group to dozens of cities. The next Rebelution concert takes place June 19th in Portland, ME, with stops in Cleveland, OH, Austin, TX, Berkeley, CA, and more before wrapping up August 27th in Eugene, OR.
The annual summer Rebelution tour is a tradition for the band that dates back years, only being canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic. These shows returned with a bang in summer 2021, taking the California-based group around the US with a newfound appreciation for performing. The setlist will include old favorites like “So High,” “Roots Reggae Music,” and “Attention Span,” plus new tracks from their 2021 album, In The Moment.
Grateful Web describes In the Moment as “deliberate and wide-ranging, infusing the quartet’s soulful, exhilarating brand of modern reggae with addictive pop hooks, alt-rock grit, and hip-hop grooves.” Frankly, we couldn’t agree more. They’ve played by their own rules since the formation of Rebelution in 2004, which has helped make them one of the most prominent reggae groups of the 21st century.
Rebelution is known for not only genre-blending but knowing how to both have fun and create change simultaneously. They address serious issues on tracks like “2020 Vision,” alluding to everything from the pandemic to politics, while “Future Depends” has a title that speaks for itself. But of course, they’re also leaning into the laid-back reggae atmosphere and reminding their fans to stay positive even in a tumultuous time. This Rebelution tour is called “Good Vibes,” after all, and that’s exactly what you’ll get in a city near you.
