Mudvayne is officially back and ready to rock your socks off! The nu-metal masters have announced “The Psychotherapy Sessions tour,” their first headlining trek in fourteen years. Joined by Coal Chamber, GWAR, Nonpoint, and more, they’ll begin on July 20th in West Palm Beach, FL, and continue through August 26th in Greenwood Village, CO.
“An Event. On the Horizon. Over 25 years in the making. Brave travelers…you, and the alien seed – MuDvAyNe. A journey begun, ” says Mudvayne drummer Matt McDonough. “Reaching Zenith. Now for the Eschatology.” If absolutely none of that made sense to you, don’t worry… it’s just a part of Mudvayne’s signature weirdness and charm. In less-technical terms, the band and their fans are ecstatic to get back on the road for the first time since 2009! Well, almost.
Mudvayne caused an uproar when they opened for Rob Zombie on his “Freaks on Parade tour” in 2021, with fans clamoring for more in the form of a full-length tour. Get your sign of the horns ready, because the day is almost here! The famously extraterrestrial makeup-clad, nu-metal-playing group has a lot of old and new tricks up their sleeve, and you haven’t really lived until you’ve seen a live Mudvayne concert. From heart-pounding drum solos to blinding strobe lights and galactic growls that are simply out-of-this-world, you’ll be instantly in heavy metal heaven as you step into the crowd.
What will the setlist include? They have five hit albums and countless singles to choose from, so it’s hard to say! We’re placing bets on hearing “Dig,” “Happy?” “Not Falling,” and “Scream With Me,” just to name a few. And while they haven’t released an album since their self-titled 2009 project, we’re not giving up hope that they have some new tunes in the works. More crazy things have happened in the metal scene, after all, and this Mudvayne reunion is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for any fan of the genre.
