2021 Megadeth & Lamb of God on Tour – Metal Tour of the Year Schedule
Two of the biggest metal bands in the world are heading on tour, and you don’t want to miss Megadeth and Lamb of God. The much-anticipated tour begins on August 11th in Nashville, TN, and visits all the top venues in the country before ending in early October with three days in Canada.
“Can you hear that sound of armies on the march — of destruction on the horizon? That’s this tour, coming for you,” Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine said in a statement. “We cannot wait to return to the stage and I promise you you do NOT want to miss these shows. You’re not going to know what hit you!”
When it’s actually called the “Metal Tour of the Year,” you know you’re in for a good time… and Megadeth plans to deliver with their first outing in several years. This will mark Mustaine’s return to the stage since he shocked the metal world with his throat cancer diagnosis in summer 2019, taking a break from touring to focus on his health.
With Mustaine now in remission, and live music returning to stadiums, it seems like the perfect time to embark on the Metal Tour of the Year. Megadeth will be joined by their mascot, the skeletal figure called Vic Rattlehead, and their longtime friends Lamb of God – who are just as excited to get back on the road.
“It’s been far too long since we got together to do our thing— by ‘we’ I mean bands, road crew, bus drivers, truck drivers, local venue staff, vendors, audience, parking lot attendants, the freaking janitors — the whole damn enchilada,” said Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe. “ALL OF US. TOGETHER.” We couldn’t agree more, and it’s going to be quite the party in the circle pit.
This Megadeth tour isn’t the only good news for the band. Mustaine has been sharing photos of himself inside the studio as they do the final touches on the band’s sixteenth studio album, The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead!l No release date has been announced yet, but it’s safe to assume that they will be playing a few new tracks on their upcoming tour. A new song to thrash to in the pit? Don’t mind if we do.
