Genesis 2021 Tour Announcement – The Last Domino? Tour Schedule
Genesis fans have long been awaiting the reunion of their favorite British band, and dreams are coming true with The Last Domino? Tour. Rescheduled from 2020, Phil Collins and his bandmates will kick off the North American leg of the tour on November 15th in Chicago, before wrapping up in Boston the following month.
This will be the first time in fourteen years that Genesis is touring together, with the band going on an indefinite hiatus in 2007. While there is no talk of new music at this time — and the Genesis tour setlist is being kept a secret — fans are excited to see Phill Collins, Mark Rutherford, and Tony Banks grace the stage again after all these years.
In an interview on the Rockonteurs podcast, Rutherford got personal about the upcoming tour and how it was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. “We thought, ‘Are we crazy rehearsing for the tour? ‘It might never happen,’” he told Gary Kemp and Guy Pratt. “Then we thought, ‘If we don’t do it now and it goes back another year and a half, we might forget the whole thing. Let’s rehearse anyway. We’ll have a show we’re excited about and it keeps the momentum going.’”
From the band’s conception in 1967 to their last hiatus in 2007, Genesis has earned a reputation as one of the best-selling artists in the world. The band’s fifteen studio albums (and six live albums) have sold over 100 million copies worldwide, while they have also earned numerous accolades and inspired countless other artists. From Grammy awards to a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, there’s no denying the legacy of Genesis.
Phil Collins has also reached success as a solo artist, with seven albums and a title of second wealthiest drummer in the world, after Ringo Starr. He has stated that The Last Domino? Tour will include “less drum-heavy” songs, as his health issues have prevented him from playing over the years, but fans can still expect a powerful performance from Collins and his bandmates.
The Genesis reunion tour is a long-awaited event that fans have longed for over the past decade, and you don’t want to miss these incredible performances. Check the tour dates below, and get your tickets for the North American leg of The Last Domino? Tour today!
