Dead and Company 2023 Tour Announcement – Farewell Tour Schedule
Dates have been announced for the final Dead and Company tour, and it’s going to be a bittersweet end for the rock supergroup. The farewell tour will kick off on May 19th in Los Angeles, CA, and make stops in Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL, New York, NY, and many more before concluding on July 15th in San Francisco, CA.
“As we put the finishing touches on booking venues, and understanding that word travels fast, we wanted to be the first to let you know that Dead & Company will be hitting the road next summer for what will be our final tour,” John Mayer wrote on Instagram. “Stay tuned for a full list of dates for what will surely be an exciting, celebratory, and heartfelt last run of shows.” Original Grateful Dead member, and current Dead and Company guitarist, Bob Weir chimed in with a message of his own and kept it humorous in true Weir fashion. “Well, it looks like that’s it for this outfit; but don’t worry, we will all be out there in one form or another until we drop…” he stated, leaving fans with both sadness and excitement as they prepared to say goodbye.
The idea that the 2023 Dead and Company tour would be their last has been a rumor for years, but nobody quite wanted to believe it. Especially since Mayer, Weir, and the rest of their bandmates, all of them hailing from the original Grateful Dead, embarked not long ago on one of the most successful-post pandemic tours of 2021. They lived up to their reputation as the best jam band of the 2020s, and then some, and it’s hard to imagine them not playing together anymore. Sadly, that will be the case soon, but there’s still plenty of time to get tickets for one last hoorah.
Dead and Company began in 2015 when John Mayer, a multiplatinum solo artist, channeled his love for The Grateful Dead into his work and began a friendship with original member Bob Weir. Long story short, they became best friends and convinced ex-Grateful Dead players Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann to join them in a new band. Many Dead and Company tours and hordes of fans later, they made a new name for themselves in the vast folk, rock, and blues landscapes. Is it sad to see this tour era come to an end? Yes, but the legacy of Dead and Company will live on forever; you can join them in the crowd to witness this sensational show one last time. Get your Dead and Company tickets today!
