Dave Matthews Band 2021 North American Tour Schedule UPDATED Shows
The Dave Matthews Band are ready to share their world-famous live shows with fans again. The 90’s icons are getting ready to head on a North American Tour this summer, beginning July 23rd in Raleigh, NC, and making 44 stops before wrapping up in Uncasville, CT on November 10th.
Update: The band has just announced three new shows at the tail end of their North American tour. Two nights at Madison Square Garden for their first appearance in the legendary New York venue to close the tour on November 12 and 13. Columbus was also added for November 5 at the Nationwide Arena.
Originally scheduled to tour in 2020, Dave Matthews Band was forced to postpone their shows until further notice due to COVID-19. While many DMB fans were bummed that they wouldn’t be able to see the Grammy-winning, multiplatinum band in the flesh…true loyalists and superfans of Dave Matthews Band knew that not even a global pandemic could stop them from returning to the stage. As expected, the group announced their rescheduled Dave Matthews Band tour dates in April, long before most artists began making tour announcements.
The group, led by Dave Matthews himself, has become as popular for energetic and distinctive live shows as they are for nostalgic, late 90’s-early 2000’s rock hits. They make each show memorable by improvising sections of each song in every city similar to the norm for jam bands like Phish, Grateful Dead (now Dead & Co), Umphrey’s McGee, and My Morning Jacket. Beyond just this distinction for each show, unique and unexpected covers often make an appearance on the setlist. Dave Matthews Band concerts are one of the “most bootlegged” of all time, as the group always encouraged fans to record their sets — long before live streaming and YouTube gained momentum.
Known as a “jam band,” you’ll never be bored at a Dave Matthews band concert. The group has performed songs from their nine studio albums for over two decades, yet still put a unique spin on them in every city. Their fans are extremely loyal and known to follow them on every tour, and you can imagine that Dave Matthews and his band will be jamming even harder on their first post-pandemic shows.
