Blackberry Smoke 2021 Tour Announcement – You Hear Georgia Tour Schedule
Blackberry Smoke is currently on their You Hear Georgia tour, named after the Southern rock band’s seventh album. The next performance takes place on September 28th in Rutland, VT, while the US leg of this tour continues through December 4th in Lake Wales, FL.
“We can’t wait to come out and play our new songs from You Hear Georgia live!” singer Charlie Starr said in a statement. “We are long overdue to get out to these great places and see some friends, family, brothers, and sisters that we have really missed. It’s going to be extra special playing these big rock ‘n’ roll shows again!”
The year 2020 marked Blackberry Smoke’s 20th anniversary as a band, and they’re ready to make up for lost time with the You Hear Georgia tour. The record of the same name was released in May 2021, featuring country-rock hits like “Morningside,” “Hey Delilah,” and “Lonesome For a Livin’” featuring Jamey Johnson.
And then there’s the title track, which demonstrates Blackberry Smoke’s loyalty to their home state of Georgia. It’s where the five-piece group got their start, eventually becoming opening acts for ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd and hosting their own sold-out tours.
“It started with the idea of how people might have a preconceived opinion of you because of a thick Southern accent,” Starr said about the track, “You Hear Georgia.” “It then expanded into the reality of how some people just seem to have such a hard time getting along, thanks to political or religious views, or simply what part of the country you come from.”
They may have sold thousands of records and reached no. 1 on the Billboard country charts over the past two decades, but Georgia will always be in the hearts of Blackberry Smoke. Atlanta is the second-to-last stop on the You Hear Georgia tour before the group heads to the UK in 2022, and we can’t wait to see the energetic, heartfelt show they have planned.
Blackberry Smoke has already garnered people’s attention on this tour – playing a ZZ Top cover with the Allman Betts Band last August and gaining rave reviews from critics. NYS Music says it best.
“Per the band’s website, they ‘have been through the wringer’ in the music biz,” the publication wrote. “But you wouldn’t have known it as they strutted the stage, kicked up their heels, played their hearts out, and found Ricky Young and Joel King climbing out on speakers to take in all the house had to offer.”
This sounds like just the country-rock concert we need in 2021, and we can’t wait to see Blackberry Smoke on tour! Check the tour schedule below and get your tickets to the You Hear Georgia tour now.
