Big Time Rush 2022 Tour Announcement – Forever Tour Schedule
Big Time Rush is ready for the ultimate comeback, announcing the Forever tour in early 2022. The boy band’s first headlining tour in nearly a decade begins on June 23rd in Oxon Hill, MD, and visits over 40 cities before ending on August 20th in Concord, CA.
“Not only are we excited to be sharing new music with you this week, but we’ve been holding onto this secret for over two years, and now it’s official!” the group said in a statement. “We are going back on tour! We can’t thank you enough for all of your love and support over all these years, and we can’t wait to see you at the “FOREVER♾TOUR.”
The new music they mentioned refers to their all-new song and music video, “Not Giving You Up.” The 90s infomercial theme of the video hits close to home for the millennial men, who spend half the video in office attire and the other half performing silly choreography. The four group members – Kendall Schmidt, Logan Henderson, Carlos PenaVega, and James Maslow – are all in their 30s now but will never forget the boy band beats that made them famous.
The boys in Big Time Rush were the real deal in the late 2000s and early 2010s, starring in their Nickelodeon show of the same name and performing together until their 2013 hiatus. What took them so long to get back together, especially when fans have been clamoring for a comeback for years? It’s complicated.
“We’ve all talked about getting together over the years, but the timing just wasn’t right. At the end of 2019, we finally started to make plans for a comeback,” Maslow told Rolling Stone. “Then, of course we had to make a lot of adjustments because of everything going on in the world. The silver lining of it all was that we got to spend a lot more time working on music and planning our inevitable return.”
This Big Time Rush tour has been a long time coming. Just ask the fans who attended their two highly-anticipated concerts in December 2021, and immediately made predictions on social media about the next Big Time Rush tour. Would they wait until 2023 to do a ten-year reunion? Release new pop hits? Embrace their new roles as pop stars-turned-papas? All these questions were answered in February 2022 with the next Big Time Rush tour announcement, and they can’t wait to see you at the show.
