100 Gecs 2021 Tour Announcement – 10,000 Gecs Tour Schedule
Hyperpop duo 100 Gecs are going on a 32-date tour this fall, and there will be some sorcery and sweet beats involved. Performances begin on October 8th in Oakland, CA, and continue until December 9th in New York, NY.
One look at the 100 Gecs Instagram shows that they’re a new type of electropop band. Dylan Brady and Laura Les are friendly nerds who dress up in wizard hats and aren’t afraid to get a bit weird – yet have huge names like Fall Out Boy and Charli XCX on speed dial for collaborations.
Why have these mega-famous musicians sung the praises (pun intended) of 100 Gecs since the group formed in 2015? An experimental blending of genres and an almost-ironic take on popular music that people can’t get enough of. We mean that literally, as 100 Gecs even released a remixed version of their debut album, 2019’s 1000 Gecs, in 2020 after requests from fans.
1000 Gecs and the Tree of Clues is as mystical as it sounds, an updated album featuring collaborations with Kero Kero Bonito, Fall Out Boy, Tommy Cash, Dorian Electra, and others. NME called it “an exhilarating snapshot of pop’s alternative future,” although the genre-blending album features traces of EDM, pop-punk, screamo, bubblegum pop, indie, and many more.
If you’re getting pumped just reading up about 100 Gecs, just know that the duo puts on an incredible live show. Concerts feature every ounce of innovation and extreme genre-blending from the album, as the crowd dances along to “745 Sticky,” “Han Crushed By a Mallet,” “Ringtone,” and more.
