The Cult are returning to America on the “Death Cult tour!” Joined by Patriarchy, the beloved British rock band will begin on October 9th in Niagara Falls, ON, continuing for three weeks before wrapping October 30th in Los Angeles, CA.
Described as “a communal gathering of the tribes featuring sets from Death Cult and the Cult,” this trek serves as a 40th anniversary celebration — for both groups. Let us explain. After banding togethr in 1983, The Cult very briefly played under the name of Death Cult, a nod to singer Ian Astbury’s former band, Southern Death Cult.
And it’s not like Death Cult was just a short-lived phase, either, as they put out a self-titled EP and a single, “God’s Zoo” in 1983. They rebranded themselves as the Cult the following year, but their previous moniker will never be forgotten. So much so, that they’re giving Death Cult the love they deserve on the Cult 2025 tour dates.
