Fitz and the Tantrums 2023 Tour Announcement – Let Yourself Free Tour Schedule
Fitz and the Tantrums are taking off on the “Let Yourself Free tour” beginning in early 2023, supporting their upcoming album of the same name. The indie-pop and neo-soul group will kick off on January 21st in Portland, OR, making 17 stops before concluding on February 16th in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
“We are so excited for the world to hear our fifth studio album,” frontman Michal “Fitz,” Fitzpatrick said in a statement. “For this record, we really wanted to pull from our earliest influence and bring the through line of this band full circle. Tracks like ‘Silver Platter’ and ‘Steppin’ On Me’ really are a nod to our first album, Pickin’ up the Pieces, while tracks like ‘Moneymaker’ take that influence and blast it into the future.” The Los Angeles-based band has come a long way since its debut album twelve years ago, and we love the idea of a full-circle moment! Get ready to dance into a new year and era with these Fitz and the Tantrums concerts.
It’s been three years and several global crises since they released the last Fitz and the Tantrums album, 2019’s All the Feels. While some groups took a more serious approach in their first post-pandemic albums, leaning on sorrow to produce more profound songs, Fitz and the Tantrums is not that band. Their latest single, “Moneymaker,” is a total bop that belongs in the most upbeat of settings, while the music video for “Sway” takes place in a colorful 1950s diner and has all the dancing you’d expect from the neo-soul outfit. Seriously, we couldn’t help but smile hearing them perform the latter track live on The Kelly Clarkson Show, and it’s going to be that much better in the flesh!
Fitz and the Tantrums have kept busy over the past several years, not just working on Let Yourself Free but also supporting frontman Michael Fitzpatrick in his solo efforts. Going by the moniker FITZ, he released his debut solo album, Head Up High, in 2021.
