Frozen, The Musical in Theater – 2021-2022 Performance Schedule
You may have heard “Let it Go” about a million times since Frozen hit theaters in 2013… but have you seen the song performed on stage, with breathtaking special effects and a digital costume change that would put Lady Gaga to shame? Frozen: The Musical is touring around the country, and now is the chance to see the stage adaptation of the Disney film that took the world by storm – literally.
While Frozen is no longer playing on Broadway, you can still find performances around the US. These cities include Salt Lake City, UT, New Orleans, LA, Orlando, FL, Chicago, IL, and more through fall 2022.
Frozen follows the story of royal sisters Anna and Elsa as they try to find themselves, rebuild their relationship, and belt out showstoppers that you’ll be singing along to for days. Elsa possesses magical powers that allow her to create ice and snow, and all is well until she accidentally injures her younger sister with her magic.
Anna is healed with the help of the hidden folk, and her mind is wiped clean of all memories of Elsa’s powers. As the sisters grow up and become isolated from each other, Elsa begins to fear her growing powers while Anna wonders what she did to push away her former best friend.
The musical follows the two sisters as they become orphans; Elsa is crowned queen and runs away to start a new journey after setting off an eternal winter in Arendelle.
What exactly made Frozen the most popular animated feature of all time? One thing is agreed upon… the show appeals to all types of people. You can look around the theater and see everybody from toddlers in Anna dresses to millennials with bleached blonde hair singing along to the film’s classics (which are all in the show!).
“Let it Go,” “Fixer Upper,” and “For the First Time in Forever” will all be sung, along with some new tunes. These include “Dangerous to Dream,” “Hygge,” and “Monster,” the last of which gives more insight into Elsa’s struggles. Frozen is a breathtaking musical that any Disney fan will love – and you can get tickets for the following dates!
