Formed in 2007, Cirque Dreams Holidaze is a winter circus that literally brings your favorite holiday heroes to life. Dancing snowmen, levitating gingerbread men, and marching toy soldiers are all involved in this colorful, carefully-crafted show, and you’ll be blown away by the stunts as you absorb the surreal backdrops. Holidaze is currently playing in Aurora, CO, Detroit, MI, Boston, MA, North Charleston, SC, and several other cities.
“The thing that makes Cirque Dreams Holidaze so unique is that you never know what’s going to happen next,” director Neil Goldberg said in 2017 when the show debuted at Nashville’s Grande Ole Opry House. He continued, saying that you “can expect the unexpected.”
It’s undoubtedly true, as one sequence of dancing penguins can be followed by incredible acrobatics, tango-ing gingerbread men, or an outfit change that involves umbrellas and pounds and confetti. Speaking of which, this show includes over 300 outfits that represent the sparkle and seasonal joy of the holidays.
It’s all a part of the extravagance that Cirque has made their brand, and you’ll be so overwhelmed by sequined outfits, impeccable singing, and unimaginable stunts that you won’t even know where on stage to look! Young said that he wanted to create a “Broadway musical, holiday stage spectacle, and a Cirque show all in one,” and that’s exactly what he’s done with Holidaze.
