Ween 2021 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
Ween is taking their genre-bending show on the road this fall, rescheduled from 2020 with a few new dates! Ween concerts will begin on August 20th at the Summer Camp Music Festival in Chillicothe, IL, and go on until Halloween where they will play a show at Mission Ballroom in Denver, CO.
Blending genres is practically the norm these days, with rock bands infusing EDM and hip-hop while former rappers go for a pop-punk vibe (looking at you, Machine Gun Kelly). That being said, Ween has been practicing the art of crossing genres since their formation in 1984 – and it sounds even better on the stage.
Aaron Freeman and Mickey Melchiondo, better known as Gene Ween and Dean Ween, are more than ready to get back on stage after a year away. Expect to hear alt-rock hits from all nine of their studio albums, and perhaps even a few covers that you may or may not expect.
Will they infuse a bit of gospel, heavy metal, country, psychedelia into their alt-rock tunes? Or pop and R&B when they perform covers from one of the biggest Ween influences, Prince? Only time will tell!
While commonly called an alternative or experimental rock band by critics, Ween songs are known to pull influences from every genre. Only they can pull off a punk rock song that’s also infused with psychedelia, R&B, and country at the same time! And while Ween has not released a new album since 2007, these classic hits get better every time you hear them on stage.
