Wallows 2022 Tour Announcement – Tell Me That It’s Over Tour Schedule
The new Wallows tour may be called “Tell Me That It’s Over,” but the fact is that Southern California rockers are just getting started. They’re celebrating their sophomore album with an extensive trek, with the next show taking place June 12th in Pittsburgh, PA, and the last one occurring October 13th in Oklahoma City, OK.
This Wallows tour began at the beginning of 2022, with the mid-20s alt-rockers playing dozens of cities, including Indio, CA, during Coachella weekend. They’ve been incredibly hyped with releasing their second record, Tell Me That It’s Over, in March… which earned them significant critical acclaim and countless new fans. Singles like “I Don’t Want to Talk,” “Especially You,” and “At the End of the Day” resonated with indie pop-rock fans in a very real way. And they’re just getting started with a summer leg of the Wallows tour.
When V Magazine asked Wallows whether the new album represented a new era or was instead an extension of previous projects, the group had a detailed answer. “This one was the first one that we did not really conceptualize from the get-go. We found meaning in it and found what it was once it was close to finished,” says singer Dylan Minnette. “We’re in this unique position of,
‘Yes, this is our sophomore record, and it’s intimidating, but we have already released two or three albums’ worth of music before this.'”
“So we felt more freedom to not overthink it and go the opposite route with our sophomore,” he continued. “I feel like it’s all of the above. I think it’s an extension of all our previous projects, but also a lot of it feels really fresh and new and exciting.” These are just a few words to describe the Wallows tour and new album, along with “upbeat,” “inventive,” and “energetic.” In the simplest terms, they’re on a roll, and you’ll walk out of the venue with a new favorite band after a Wallows concert.
The group has been together since 2017, composed of 13 Reasons Why Minnette, Braeden Lemasters, and Cole Preston. They first made headlines in 2019 when they released their debut album; Nothing Happens, including the hit single “Are You Bored Yet?” They also gave us a bit of a treat in quarantine with the mid-pandemic EP, Remote, as they continued writing for their third album. Tell Me That It’s Over is finally here and proves them to be one of the best indie pop-rock acts of 2022.
