Volbeat 2023 Tour Announcement – Servant of the Road Tour Schedule
Volbeat is touring in the summer of 2023, and they’re taking Halestorm with them! The metal giants will begin their “Servant of the Road tour” on July 12th in Toronto, ON. They’ll make stops in Winnipeg, MB, Spokane, WA, Uncasville, CT, and more before wrapping up on August 6th in Grantville, PA.
“We are so excited to finally see our friends in Canada again. And also get to play shows for some of our friends in the U.S. that we haven’t had a chance to see since Servant of the Mind was released,” says Volbeat. “The incomparable Halestorm will be joining us for most of the shows, too. We hope to see you at the party!” It’s been over a year since their eighth and latest album, Servant of the Mind, was released in late 2021. But they haven’t had the chance to give it a proper trek. Volbeat gave fans a sneak peek of their updated setlist when they opened for Ghost last year, but 2023 shows will be on a whole new level!
New songs like “Wait A Minute My Girl,” “Shotgun Blues,” and “Becoming” are perfectly Volbeat. What does that mean, exactly? A tried-and-true heavy metal album with hints of rockabilly and psychobilly. Few other rock bands can mix electric guitars with fiddles so effortlessly, and you’ll see it in full force on this Volbeat tour. Following up on 2019’s Rewind, Replay, Rebound, this project is a step up for Volbeat with a new producer (Jacobn Hansen) and an updated way of thinking.
“I wrote the whole album in three months. I was in a good place and mood while at home and had a captive audience of myself,” says Volbeat singer Michael Poulsen. “There are a lot of Volbeat signatures in it. If you go back to the first record and compare it to where we are now, you can hear how the band has developed its style while keeping the signature sound.” In a separate interview with KLOS radio, he also called the record “uptempo, it’s heavy, it’s very riffy, there’s even thrash songs, but again, there’s also these really huge rock songs.” Basically, it’s Volbeat in a nutshell!
Volbeat has come a long way over the past fifteen years, coming out strong with their 2005 debut, The Strength/The Sound/The Songs, and getting better with each project. They had a lot of source material for Servant of the Mind, from quarantine and loss to paranormal activity. And you’ll get a front-row seat to it all on the Servant of the Road tour.
