U2 2023 Las Vegas – Achtung Baby Live at Sphere Residency Schedule
U2 is back for the mother of all Las Vegas residencies! The world-famous Irish rock group will play the first-ever shows at The Sphere, the brand-new venue at The Venetian Las Vegas. They’ll kick off on September 29th and continue through December 16th, 2023.
“For 40 years, I’ve been U2’s creative director for their live performances,” reads a voiceover from the official U2 tour announcement video. “Each time we try to make a new show, we are challenging ourselves to reinvent everything we’ve done before. So I get a call saying, ‘There’s this venue being built in Las Vegas!” He follows up with a sarcastic “You’ve got to be kidding,” which hardly does justice to the cutting-edge technology and top-tier visuals you’ll experience at The Sphere.
“The Sphere is completely unprecedented,” the voice continues. “You won’t see speakers hanging from the ceiling because the entire building is a speaker. And a video screen, inside and out.” “Every time we go to do something new, it’s a whole blank slate, and with The Sphere, everything is circular,” they conclude, referring to the venue’s shape that lives up to the name. “I feel like we’ve cracked the code. I mean, it’s complete madness, really.”
The Sphere is destined to overhaul not only the Las Vegas residency experience but live music as a whole. The 100% circular arena creates an immersive environment with the world’s most advanced audio system, multi-sensory 4D technologies, and more to help you deep-dive right into a U2 concert. If any group deserves the honor of being the first musician to play The Sphere, it’s U2. And you can bet that their first foray into the concert world after a years-long hiatus will be next-level technological.
Bono and his bandmates are celebrating over four decades of hits, ranging from their 1980 debut, Boy, to their long-awaited fifteenth album, 2023’s Songs of Surrender. And while U2 concerts are already known to be some of the most ambitious and digitally savvy in live music, their upcoming residency will transport you into another world of alternative rock.
There’s a reason why U2 is one of the biggest rock bands in the world, with nearly 200 million albums sold and endless awards to their name. They’re born performers. Songs like “With Or Without You,” “Beautiful Day,” “One,” and “New Year’s Day” somehow sound even more surreal when amplified in an arena. And with the help of The Sphere’s breathtaking sound system, Bono’s vocals will be beyond otherworldly.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for any U2 fan, and you can’t miss your chance to see them launch The Sphere into the Las Vegas entertainment landscape. Get your U2 tickets now!
