Turnover 2022 Tour Announcement – Myself in the Way Tour Schedule
Turnover is taking their show on the road in fall 2022, supporting their upcoming fifth album, Myself in the Way. The indie-rock band will kick off on November 5th in Boston, MA, and make stops in dozens of cities before concluding on December 18th in Philadelphia, PA.
Due in November 2022, the band is excited to release Myself in the Way for their millions of fans. It’s their first record since 2019’s Altogether, and takes the band in a totally new direction while still delivering the indie dreampop beats you’ve loved for over a decade. If the titular track, featuring guest vocals by Brendon Yates, is any indication, this record will be packed with perfectly catchy electronic beats that will always have a place in our Spotify playlists. They’ve also released more new singles like “Mountains Made of Clouds” and “Wait Too Long.”
“Over the last couple of years, I really tried to stop finding reasons why not to do something,” says vocalist Austin Getz. “The song ‘Myself in the Way,’ specifically, is about getting engaged despite fears I’ve always had of being able to provide for a family, to give as much as someone you love might need forever.” He concluded, “It’s about letting love lead the way despite your fears, about not letting your doubts, your ego, yourself get in the way of it.” It’s a powerful message over a dance-worthy pop chorus, and we can’t wait to hear it live for the first time on the Turnover tour!
It’s clever that Turnover has matured a lot since their formation in 2009, and more specifically since their debut album 2013’s Magnolia. While they were initially described as an emo outfit with pop-punk elements, their mid-2010s albums, Peripheral Vision and Good Nature led the way for a more psychedelic vibe. They now deliver dance-worthy hits with surprisingly deep messages and lyrics, and we love them for it! You’ll get a mix of both emo essentials and electronic beats on this Turnover tour, and it’s going to be one of the best concerts of fall 2022! Get your tickets today.
