The Psychedelic Furs 2021 Tour Announcement – Made in Rain Tour Schedule

The Psychedelic Furs are continuing their Made of Rain tour through late 2021! You can next see the British punk band on October 19th in Houston, TX, while the trek goes on through November 20th in Albany, NY.

It’s not just the return of live music that The Psychedelic Furs celebrated this year, which marked their first concerts since 2019. It’s also the group’s first album of new material in nearly three decades! Their ninth album, Made of Rain, was released in June 2020, serving as a follow-up to 1991’s World Outside. 

Where exactly do The Psychedelic Fur’s brand of post-wave punk and alt-rock fit in 2021? Why release a new record after all this time? Are they still the same punk icons who released the titular song for the 80s classic film Pretty in Pink? All of these questions are answered on Made of Rain, and it’s going to be a sweet and psychedelic ride.

Don’t get us wrong, you’ll undoubtedly hear a few 80s hits like “Love My Way,” “The Ghost in You,” and “Pretty in Pink” on tour… but the new tracks are guaranteed to bring applause. “The Boy That Invented Rock & Roll” is a roaring opener that brings the rare hint of nostalgia, while Richard Butler’s voice is better than ever on “You’ll Be Mine,” “Wrong Train,” and “Ash Wednesday.” 

The Psychedelic Furs’s return to the road has been far from easy. The British band made waves in the punk and alt-rock scene from 1977 through 1992, before going on hiatus until 2000. They spent the 2000s touring frequently and yielding questions about when their next album would be released… a question that wouldn’t be answered for decades.
