The Eagles 2023 Tour Announcement – The Long Goodbye Tour Schedule
The Eagles are flying away after 52 years…but not before their farewell tour! The soft rock legends will kick off “The Long Goodbye” on September 7th in New York City. They’ll make stops in Newark, NY; Detroit, MI; Atlanta, GA; and more before wrapping up on November 14th in Lexington, KY.
“We know how fortunate we are, and we are truly grateful,” The Eagles said in a statement. “Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle.” The band will be joined by Vince Gill as he fills in for late Eagles founding member Glenn Frey, just like he did on last year’s “Hotel California tour.” And it’s far from the only bittersweet thing about this trek.
How can you properly define the legacy of a band like The Eagles? The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have sold 200 million albums, earned endless musical awards, and are often regarded as one of the greatest bands ever. Casual listeners may know them for the 1976 album Hotel California, plus its ultra-catchy titular track, and that’s perfectly okay. However, The Eagles have an entire repertoire of soft rock (and occasionally country) hits to wow the audience on The Long Goodbye Tour.
These include songs like “New Kid In Town,” “One of These Nights,” “Peaceful Easy Feeling,” “Lyin’ Eyes,” and so many more! The Eagles’ timeless classics, captivating harmonies, and profound lyrics have left an indelible impact on every generation of music lovers. And as they embark on their farewell trek, they want you to feel equal amounts of nostalgia and neverending appreciation. The band may soon not be touring anymore, but the Eagles will always be in our hearts.
“We’re in our seventies, and we recognize that we can’t do this forever,” Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh recently told Variety at Ringo Starr’s 83rd birthday party. “I think people like BB King set an example, which is, there’s no reason to stop unless you can’t do it,” he said. “And so we’re just announcing that we’re gonna just focus on playing quality shows and slow it down a little bit.”
“And we’re gonna play until we can’t, or play until nobody comes, whichever comes first,” he concludes. But they’re still coming, so why stop? That’s the only thing we know how to do.” Does this mean that the farewell The Eagles tour isn’t exactly a long goodbye, per the title, but a “see you later?” Who knows! All you need right now is to see the legendary rock band in the flesh while you can, because tickets for The Eagles are available now.
