The Decemberists 2022 Tour Announcement – Arise From the Bunkers Tour Schedule
The Decemberists have announced the Arise From the Bunkers tour for summer 2022, beginning August 3rd in Bonner, MT. You can see the indie-rock heroes, plus special guest Brigid Mae Power, for a roughly four-week trek through the 28th in Atlanta, GA.
“We’ll be applying our rusty fingers, feet, and vocal cords to songs from all across the width and breadth of our catalogue — and, should the muses oblige, we might try a few new ones out as well,” the band wrote on Instagram. Fans are certainly due for a status update on their tenth album, the follow-up to 2018’s I’ll Be Your Girl, and they may just get it on the Decemberists tour.
It’s been a while since the last The Decemberists tour, but anybody who has attended their live shows knows that they’re in for a surprise. Colin Meloy and his mates are a unique type of jam band, surprising the audience with not just surprise setlists… but also whimsical reenactments of sea battles and historical events. The audience is encouraged to join in on the fun, singing along and swaying to lyrics about folklore and friends.
Maybe you’re hoping to hear songs from their debut album, 2002’s Castaways and Cutouts, that they haven’t played in a good while. Or perhaps “Down By the Water,” the 2011 hit from their album The King is Dead that was nominated for a Grammy?
