The Afghan Whigs 2022 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule

The Afghan Whigs are back with their first new music in five years, and you can celebrate their latest single with a 12-date outing this May! Catch the alt-rock group beginning May 11th in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with stops in Nashville, TN, St. Louis, MO, Milwaukee, WI, and more before their last show on the 25th in Brooklyn, NY.

The group’s new single, “I’ll Make You See God,” is the ultimate comeback track that fans can’t wait to see live. It has the same upbeat intro, pounding drums, and raspy vocals you can expect from The Afghan Whigs, with a slight musical transition that can only be expected after a five-year hiatus that was lengthened further by a global pandemic. Greg Dulli and his bandmates have done it again, and you’ll be headbanging harder than ever on the 2022 Afghan Whigs tour. 

“That’s one of the hardest rock songs we’ve ever done,” singer Greg Dulli in a statement. “It was written and performed on sheer adrenaline.” While the group is known for its distinctive R&B influences, the alternative rock and indie world is where their true roots lie. And it’s never been more apparent than with “I’ll Make You See God.” The comments on the band’s lyrical YouTube video, which gained over 32,000 views in just a couple of weeks, say it all. 

“I am so READY for new Afghan Whigs. I still get as excited to hear their new releases as I did the first time I brought their CD home when I was a freshman in college,” one YouTube comment says about the group, who have been performing together on and off since 1986. “The driving push of this track makes you want to just scream in the crowd of bodies eager to get back to live music. Thank you for this, a much-needed jolt during a rough patch in the human storyline.”

The human storyline only gets better with new music from The Afghan Whigs. It’s unclear when they’re planning to release their ninth album, the last one being 2017’s In Spades, but for now… we can’t wait to hear “I’ll Make You See God” played live for the first time.
