Styx is back on the road with REO Speedwagon for the ultimate classic rock show, and you can’t miss the Live and UnZoomed tour. The next Styx concert takes place July 16th in Irvine, CA, and visits cities like Ridgefield, WA, Nashville, TN, Holmdel, NJ, and more before concluding on October 18th in Winnipeg Canada.
If this lineup looks familiar, that’s because it is. Styx and REO Speedwagon have been friends and frequent tourmates for the past two decades! Both groups rose to fame in the 1970s and have triumphed together, including REO Speedwagon’s thirteen Top 40 hits and Styx becoming the first band to release four multiplatinum albums in a row. The first thing they did after live music returned in summer 2022? They took a trip down memory lane and across the US together, and the fun only continues on the Live and UnZoomed tour.
Styx continues to tour and release new music, like 2021’s Crash of the Crown, which reminds you of their genre-blending abilities that have made them a household name. Their guitar solos range from hard rock to acoustic, while they unite synthesizers and acoustic piano plus musical theater elements over power ballads and upbeat tracks. “People have to know the legacy of Styx is the focal point of any show. They’re going to hear ‘Blue Collar Man,’ ‘Renegade,’ ‘Come Sail Away,’ and ‘The Grand Illusion’ on every Styx show,” he told the publication. “We also want to show the band is thriving and still has new ideas that have some connection to them.
