Styx 2021 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
Styx is the latest 70’s rock band to announce a tour for 2021, and you don’t want to miss out on these performances. Concerts begin on August 5th in Clearwater, FL, and make 38 stops before wrapping up on November 20th in Springfield, IL.
Styx has been in the music industry for over fifty years, and its reputation as a progressive rock icon is still well intact. So much so that fans have started a petition to get the band inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Unlike other groups, however, Styx does not want to live in their legacy.
The band continues to tour and release new music, like 2021’s Crash of the Crown and proves that it has just as much rock and roll grandeur as it did half a century ago. They embrace their legacy and hit songs like “Babe” and “Mr. Roboto” while making it clear that they’ve “still got it.”
This is clear with lead singer Lawrence Gowan’s recent interview with Dayton.com when he’s asked about the setlist on the upcoming Styx tour.
“People have to know the legacy of Styx is the focal point of any show. They’re going to hear ‘Blue Collar Man,’ ‘Renegade,’ ‘Come Sail Away,’ and ‘The Grand Illusion’ on every Styx show,” he told the publication. “We also want to show the band is thriving and still has new ideas that have some connection to them. We take sections of the new album to segue seamlessly into the present and the past.”
