Stray Cats 2024 Tour Announcement – Summer 2024 Tour Schedule
It’s going to be a purrr-fect summer with Stray Cats! The beloved rockabilly band is returning to the road on their first tour in five years, beginning on July 27th in Woodinville, WA. They’ll stop in Saratoga, CA, Denver, CO, Gary, IN, and more before concluding on August 17th in Bridgeport, CT.
“I’ve always said that we all grew up in the same neighborhood, so there’s an instant feeling between us when we play,” says Stray Cats leader Brian Setzer, referring to band mates Lee Rocker and Slim Jim Phantom. “It allows us to be confident and spontaneous. Man, that’s priceless.” “With just a string bass, a guitar and a drum, we have always had less instruments and gear, but more rumble, more twang, more shake and more bang than anyone else,” Rocker added. “Now’s the right time to bring it back.”
This 2024 trek is somewhat like a second comeback for Stray Cats, as their first happened back in 2019. Setzer and Co. released 40, an aptly titled 40th anniversary album, which also happened to be their first new project in nearly three decades. Rockabilly tracks like “Cat Fight (Over a Dog Like Me),” “Rock It Off,” and “That’s Messed Up” proved that time had only been good for Setzer’s trademark twang. And fans were on the edge of their seats as they awaited a reunion tour to go along with 40.
Sadly, this never came to fruition, as the COVID-19 pandemic put a damper on any and all plans to hit the road. But five years later, they’re finally ready to rock again! Along with the semi-new songs off 40, they’ll also play the tried-and-true classics you’ve loved since the 1980s. We’re talking about “Sexy + 17,” “Ubangi Stomp,” “Stray Cat Strut,” and “Runaway Boys.” You don’t need all the bells and whistles to be a killer live band…just a bass guitar, drum set, and twangy voice. And Stray Cats are living proof.
Since it took three decades for Stray Cats to release another album, and another five for them to go on tour, let’s just say that this is a can’t-miss opportunity for longtime fans. Get in the rockabilly mood with the beloved trio, because tickets are available now for the following dates!
