The Scotty McCreery tour is making its way across the US, and we can’t wait for you to grab tickets to see this country music crooner. The next Scotty McCreery concert takes place on August 2nd in Columbus, OH, with the last of 2022 scheduled for October 15th in Myrtle Beach, SC.
This Scotty McCreery tour continues to support his fifth album, 2021’s Same Truck, which spanned singles like “Damn Strait” and “You Time” while receiving great reviews. Country Swag wrote that the album “showcases McCreery’s talent for knowing how to perfectly mix fun with heart” and “aimed to give fans a new perspective on life, and he nailed it.” They also noted that the album was well worth the three-year wait, following up on 2018’s Seasons Change, and fans of the onetime American Idol winner certainly agree.
McCreery continues to climb the charts and make his way into the country fan’s hearts eleven years after winning the world-famous singing competition. Sure, he sings about lost love, trucks, and Nashville nights like the rest of the country music community, but he encompasses magic and maturity that’s well past his 28 years. He rose to fame as a teenager and soon reached superstardom when his debut album, 2011’s Clear as Day, reached number one on the Billboard 200. And he’s only gone up in the decade since.
McCreery has collaborated with plenty of country megastars throughout his career, including Keith Urban and Luke Combs. However, he holds a special place in his heart for neotraditional country legend George Strait. So much so that he released a tribute song to him with his latest single, “Damn Strait!” It’s flattery to the highest degree, and McCreery has stated that he knew the song was his from the start.
“I was writing songs left and right, we had the songs put on there, but for me, when I heard a song ‘Damn Strait,’ I immediately raised my hand and said, ‘Me, me, me.’,” McCreery said in a statement. “It’s such a cool song. It’s so cleverly written. And obviously, I’m a massive George Strait fan. It just sounded so much like me”. He concluded, “Every country fan has a George Strait story, and everyone has a memory attached to their favorite songs.” It’s very much true, but McCreery is making new memories for these music fans that include not only Strait but also himself and the country hero he’s become.
