Sarah McLachlan 2024 Tour Announcement – Fumbling Towards Ecstasy Tour Schedule
Sarah McLachlan is celebrating three decades of her third album, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, with a new tour! The Canadian singer-songwriter will hit the road on May 25th in Seattle, WA, continuing through July 6th in Houston, TX.
“Hi, I’m Sarah McLachlan with a very important message,” the singer said in an Instagram video, while holding a very adorable puppy. Many will recognize this as a nod to her song “Angels” that’s notoriously been played during television commercials for the “End Animal Cruelty” campaign. However, she continued with a laugh and ceased our fears with a simple “no, not that message!”
“I’m not here to make you cry while showing you the saddest puppies and kittens you’ve ever seen,” she continued. “I’m sure you’ve probably questioned how many pets is too many while listening to my music and I am sorry about that. But today, I have no puppies. And if you shed tears, I’m really hoping they’re happy ones.”
She continued by showing a throwback video montage in which she calls her younger self “a little more rock and roll” with “electric guitars and dark moody songs.” Wait, are we talking about Sarah McLachlan or Alanis Morissette? Just kidding. But the truth is that this Sarah McLachlan tour will be a return to her semi-heavier roots from the 90s. In particular, her third album that helped her rise to mainstream success.
Fumbling With Ecstasy had everyone looking McLachlan’s way when it was released in 1993. Singles like “Possession,” “Hold On,” and “Good Enough” were more gritty than you’d expect from modern day Sarah McLachlan, putting her serenade-worthy voice on full display as she released one dreamy music video after another. Her incredible beauty, introspective self-written lyrics, and hauntingly soft melodies earned her millions of fans around the world. Many of which have stuck around for many years.
McLachlan herself is eternally grateful for this support, which has stood the test of time through 40 million albums sold, two GRAMMY Awards, and countless other accolades. “I think it’s interesting as an artist or as a human for that matter, to be able to go back and look at a postcard of a time in your life and reflect on it,” McLachlan said in a statement.
“I think this tour is going to be a real walk down memory lane for me, and I’m hoping that my audience, many of whom have been with me for 30 years, will also be able to go back in time with me.” We hope so too! Get your Sarah McLachlan tickets in the following cities starting December 15th, 2023.
