Robert Plant and Alison Krauss 2022 Tour Announcement – Raise the Roof Tour Schedule
Robert Plant has announced a joint tour with Alison Krauss for summer 2022, consisting of 10 dates and marking their first trek together in over a decade. Shows begin on June 1st in Canandaigua, NY, and end on the 16th in Atlanta, GA.
Plant and Krauss released their second joint album together, Raise the Roof, in November 2021. They celebrated the occasion with a global live stream that reached thousands of people, leading fans to wonder if or when they would get another Alison Krauss and Robert Plant tour. They would get their answer sooner rather than later and can’t wait to see the duo perform together again after twelve years.
After all, the 73-year-old former Led Zeppelin vocalist has proven that he works expertly with Krauss. Their 2007 joint album, Raising Sand, was a hit that won five Grammys. In the years since, they’ve sent songs back-and-forth to casually begin planning their next project, although Plant has admitted that he had hesitation about whether they could re-create what they’d done.
“There was a little bit of trepidation on my part,” Plant told The New York Times in a 2021 interview. “I wasn’t sure whether we could re-invoke what we had. But it was very short-lived, that question of whether or not it was real. It was like I bow to her, and she curtsies to me, and we see what we can do.”
Respect and history were two significant pieces of the puzzle, and the two artists were able to put them all together and create something beautiful with Raise the Roof. It features covers from artists like Allen Toussaint, Merle Haggard, and the Everly Brothers, along with one original called “High and Lonesome.” You can hear them all on this Robert Plant tour, alongside his longtime collaborator and friend Alison Krauss.
