Puscifer 2022 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
Puscifer is heading on the road for the first time in six years, and you simply have to see the hard-rock supergroup. Catch Maynard James Keenan’s side project beginning June 9th in Las Vegas, NV, with 21 stops before the final show on July 10th in Seattle, WA.
This Puscifer tour supports the group’s fourth album, 2020’s Existential Reckoning, which marks a new chapter for the experimental rock band. They display a more industrial rock and electronic sound than you may be used to from Maynard, a metal icon known as lead singer for Tool and A Perfect Circle. But the addition of Carina Round and Mat Mitchell produce a more experimental sound for Puscifer, and we can’t wait to hear these songs live on the road.
Existential Reckoning marks the first album and tour from Puscifer since 2015, and they pulled out all the stops for these songs. It was named on “Best Albums of 2020” lists by Revolver and Consequence of Sound, while Kerrang! gave a stellar album review that praised the extraterrestrial themes and experimental sound without sacrificing Maynard’s metal roots.
“Songs like opener “Bread And Circus” and “The Underwhelming” are brilliant electro-pop works,” the publication wrote. “With the latter mixing robotic, Human League-ish keys with a seedy, greasy guitar one moment, before switching for a more languid groove, and then back again.
“It’s cool, difficult not to get caught up in, as spacious and open as the Arizona desert in which it was born,” Kerrang! continued, and they’re not wrong. Maynard is known for recording half in Hollywood and half in the underground Arizona studio he’s made his home, and his eccentric nature was a significant piece of the puzzle on this brilliant record. He’s a frontman in every sense of the word, and he can’t wait to head on the Puscifer tour shortly after finishing his 2022 trek with Tool.
