The Psychedelic Furs have a short-but-sweet lineup of shows in 2024! The post-punk and new-wave heroes will kick off on May 4th in Phoenix, AZ, making seven stops before wrapping up on the 17th in Rancho Mirage, CA.
The band has served up nonstop new-wave and post-punk hits onstage over the past few years. First with a headlining tour promoting their eighth album, Made of Rain, which also happened to be their first in nearly three decades. And just last year, they embarked on a co-headlining tour with Squeeze that had 80s music lovers going crazy! Of course, they’re quickly making fans out of the younger generation, too, many of whom will be in the crowd at this Psychedelic Furs tour.
In 2024, they’ll continue to celebrate Made of Rain, with Richard Butler belting out semi-new tunes like “You’ll Be Mine,” “Ash Wednesday,” and “The Boy That Invented Rock & Roll.” This record was a reminder of how The Psychedelic Furs have breathed life into the post-punk crowd for decades now. And even if they’re a few years older in the 2020s..they still have more charisma than ever!
While this will be a bittersweet tour for the band, their first since saxophonist Mars Williams passed away last year, they plan to honor his memory in a magnificent way. AKA, performing four decades’ worth of hits that wouldn’t be complete without a little jazz!
