Pixies and Modest Mouse 2023 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
Attention, indie rocks fans… you don’t want to miss the Pixies and Modest Mouse tour! The two veteran groups will co-headline in late summer and fall of 2023, beginning on August 20th in Asbury Park, NJ. They’ll make 19 stops before concluding on September 16th in San Diego, CA.
Whether you’re an avid indie rock listener or not, there’s a strong chance that you’re familiar with Pixies and Modest Mouse. Both groups have been around for over thirty years and helped to shape the rock scene with their energy-packed live performances and singalong-worthy singles! How excited are you to scream along to “Where Is My Mind?” by Pixies or “Float On” by Modest Mouse, plus some all-new tunes? It will be epic, and trust us when we say that you can’t miss this ultra-fun indie trek.
Pixies have been together for a whopping 37 years in 2023, give or take a few from their late 1990s-early 2000s hiatus. But the Boston-based band has been on solid ground since reforming in 2004, delivering new albums and/or divine performances every year since! Pixies continue to support their eighth and latest album, 2022’s Doggerel, featuring new singles like “Vault of Heaven” and “There’s A Moon On.”
Of course, the setlist will also include older favorites from the group like “Debaser,” “All I Think About Now,” and “Gouge Away.” Pixies were a big part of the alternative rock boom in the 1990s, but are also known to incorporate elements of noise pop, surf rock, and indie into their songs… all of which have some of the weirdest lyrics we’ve ever heard. And we love them for it! Fun fact: Pixies were a major influence on your favorite alternative groups like Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer, the latter of which their current tourmates, Modest Mouse, are performing with later this year! Talk about creating the ultimate alt-rock universe.
Speaking of Modest Mouse, they’re also going to put on one heck of a show! They’re continuing to support their seventh and latest release, 2021’s The Golden Casket, which also marked their first new album in six years. With a performance that incorporates older favorites like “The World At Large” and “Dramamine” plus modern hits like “We Are Between” and “Leave A Light On,” you’ll take a journey through their three-decade career with every performance.
