Phillip Phillips has announced his “Where We Came From tour,” celebrating ten years of his debut album, The World from the Side of the Moon. These dates kick off on October 20th in Fort Worth, TX, and continue through November 19th in New Haven, CT.
“I can’t believe it’s been ten years since my first album came out! This fall, I am celebrating ten years with the Where We Came From tour,” the pop-rock singer wrote on Instagram. “We’ll be playing some of your favorites from my debut record, plus sneaking in a few new songs. My friends, @americanauthors, will be out with us for a bit! Those will be quite special! I can’t wait to get out on the road with you guys! All those exclamation points aren’t exaggerating, as Phillips couldn’t be more thrilled to celebrate where he came from, in more ways than one.
2012 was an exceptional year for Phillip Phillips. It was when he won the eleventh season of American Idol at only 21 years old and released his first record shortly afterward. This debut stayed on the Billboard Top 200 chart for a whopping 61 weeks, eventually going platinum, and featured singles like “Gone, Gone, Gone” and “Home” that have become performance staples. He’s since released two more albums, 2014’s Behind the Light and 2018’s Collateral, but Phillips’ debut will always have a special place in his heart. While it’s been a minute since Phillips released a new album, he has been slowly working on new music.
