Overkill 2023 Tour Announcement – Scorching The Earth Tour Schedule
Overkill is on board for a thrash-worthy summer! The metal veterans are headlining the “Scorching The Earth Tour” alongside Exhorder and Heathen, visiting 16 US cities. They’ll kick off on July 13th in San Francisco, CA, continuing through the 30th in Huntington, NY.
“Hey ‘killers,’ the time has come to hit the road in the US of A!” says Overkill singer Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth. “July the 13th starts the salvo in San Fran, and we will be rolling down the West Coast to L.A., across Rt10 east to Florida, then up the East Coast and back home. Been a long time, kids! Keep your eyes open, and get Scorched! Cya on the R.O.A.D.!”
Why has it been a hot minute since the last Overkill tour? For one, they’ve been doing this for ages, celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2020, and simply needed a break. They’ve also been open about the increased cost of touring post-pandemic and the toll it can take on both their bodies and their wallets. We appreciate the honesty!
That being said, their love of thrash metal still conquers all, and they can’t wait to see their biggest fans, both old and new, in the crowd. Especially with the release of their 20th album, Scorched, just a few months ago! The record includes new tracks like “The Surgeon,” “Wicked Place,” and “Know Her Name” that put the thrash metal pioneers on an even higher pedestal, and every music publication agreed.
Classic Rock gave the project a four-star review and described it as having “no ballads, no compromises, just pure, vicious thrash metal with all the energy and vitality of a band half their age.” Additionally, Blabbermouth had nothing but the best things to say about Scorched! They called it Overkill’s “most aggressive and punishing records” that “will smash heads against walls from start to finish.” You can say that again!
