My Morning Jacket 2021 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
My Morning Jacket is celebrating the release of their self-titled ninth album in the best way – a fall tour! Performances kicked off in August and will continue through the year before wrapping up in Denver, CO, on December 31st.
The group has been warming up for their headlining tour with several festival appearances – including Bonnaroo and Railroad. They’ve even participated in a few virtual concerts! But nothing compares to the feeling of stepping on stage and playing your indie and art-rock hits to a packed crowd – like My Morning Jacket has been doing since 1998.
That being said, this trek is a bit of a comeback for My Morning Jacket… as it marks the band’s first US tour in nearly six years. They’ll be playing classic hits like “Wordless Chorus” and “Holdin’ On to Black Metal,” along with new tracks from their soon-to-be-released ninth album.
You may have heard their latest single, “Regularly Scheduled Programming.” It’s complete with straightforward lyrics, building melodic momentum, and a psychedelic music video that takes them to the car, the mountains, a psychedelic forest, and back again. It’s so very My Morning Jacket, and the band hopes you’ll be as excited about their latest album as they are.
“I hope this album brings people a lot of joy and relief, especially since we’ve all been cooped up for so long,” lead singer Jim James said in a statement. “I know that feeling you get from driving around blasting music you love, or even lying in bed and crying to the music you love. The fact that we’re able to be a part of people’s lives in that way is so magical to us, and it feels really good that we’re still around to keep doing that.”
There will surely be laughing, crying, and everything in between at the upcoming My Morning Jacket concerts.
